Pat tomato slices dry to keep the toast crisp.

Add sliced avocado or fresh basil for extra freshness.

For more protein, top with a soft-boiled or poached egg.

Q&A
Q: Can I make it ahead of time?

It’s best assembled just before serving so the toast stays crunchy.
Q: What bread works best?

Sourdough, artisan country bread, or multigrain bread all work well.
Q: Can I use ricotta instead of cottage cheese?

Yes! Ricotta provides a smoother, creamier texture.
